Introducing Project Template

By the end of this month, we’re introducing a new feature called Project Template. As a company admin, you will be able to define templates for each type of project. With project templates, your team can easily reuse predefined components across projects.

How to create a project template

By default, one Project Template will be available containing all your current Scopes, Terms, and Abbreviations defined in your company settings.

To create a new template:

  • Navigate to the Setting page of the Company.
  • Under the Templates sections, click Project Templates.
  • Click New Template.
  • Select the Template Project you want to base on, type Name, and click Save

How to create a new project from a template

When you create a new project, you can select a predefined template. All data defined in the template will be available in your newly created project including:

  • Base module (Scope, Area, Task Definition)
  • Components (SRS, Hazards)
  • Settings (Terms and Definitions, Abbreviations)

How to transfer data between a template and a project

Templates are very similar to particular projects.  You will be able to copy data from the template to the project and vice versa.

The following steps show how you can copy a Hazard from a template to a particular project.

  • Navigate to the Project Templates, and click the project template.
  • On the Project Template detail page, click the Hazards, and select the Hazard items you want to copy to Project.
  • Click Actions, and select Copy to project.

Select your project from the list, and click Make a Copy.

We’re excited about these new updates and we look forward to hearing your feedback!

Best Regards
ADVANTIS Team
